SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE\/WYOU) \u2014 A man who worked as a church van driver in Scranton has been sentenced to 97 years for the rape of multiple children.<\/p>\n
The Lackawanna County District Attorney\u2019s Office announced that Tara Glan was sentenced to serve 43.5 years to 97 years after an investigation from a cybertip discovered child sex abuse uploaded to Snapchat.<\/p>\n
According to District Attorney Brian J. Gallagher, Glan was arrested in April 2025, and a search warrant was able to identify multiple child victims who had been sexually assaulted by Glan.<\/p>\n
The case against a second person who detectives said Glan allegedly filmed sexually assaulting a minor has been moved to juvenile court. That 17-year-old was initially charged as an adult in April of 2025. The charges included rape of a child and indecent assault. The details of that case have since been sealed.<\/p>\n

Glan pleaded guilty to three counts of rape of a child, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse
with a child, and involuntary deviate sexual Intercourse with a person who suffers
a mental disability.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe conduct in this case is nothing short of monstrous. This defendant repeatedly preyed upon vulnerable children and a mentally disabled victim, causing unimaginable trauma and lifelong harm. Today\u2019s sentence ensures the predator will spend the rest of his life behind bars and never again exploit positions to victimize the innocent,\u201d stated Lackawanna County District Attorney Brian Gallagher.<\/p>\n
