Philadelphia police are investigating a shooting that injured four people on Tuesday evening in the Parkside section of the city.<\/p>\n
The gunfire erupted around 5:10 p.m. in the 1200 block of North 42nd Street.<\/p>\n
Authorities said the victims — identified as two 45-year-old men, a 41-year-old man and a 38-year-old woman — were all hospitalized in stable condition.<\/p>\n
Neighbors described the moment gunfire erupted.<\/p>\n
Kelvin Kelly said, “I just heard – sounded like a bunch of firecrackers going off.”<\/p>\n
Investigators said at least six shots were fired, with some bullets striking Kelly’s SUV.<\/p>\n
“My car is shot up, windows shot up, bullets in my car. I don’t really know what happened,” Kelly said. “I’m in shock right now. I just got the car. The car is only two weeks old.”<\/p>\n
Police said the victims suffered gunshot wounds to the legs, feet and torso. One person was transported by officers, two by ambulance and another arrived at the hospital in a private vehicle.<\/p>\n
Detectives canvassed the neighborhood for private surveillance footage of the actual shooting and said city cameras captured video of the aftermath, which Kelly described.<\/p>\n
“People were just running around screaming and hollering, police picking people up off the ground and putting them in the car and rushing them to the hospital.”<\/p>\n
Neighbors said the violence is especially unsettling given the presence of nearby schools and children, particularly just hours after dismissal.<\/p>\n
“The last thing I want is for a child to get hit,” said Aaliyah Brown.<\/p>\n
As the investigation continues, no motive has been determined.<\/p>\n
Police said they also recovered a folding knife with a 4-inch blade at the scene, but have not confirmed whether it is connected.<\/p>\n
Kelly said he is grateful he was not caught in the crossfire.<\/p>\n
“I’m glad I wasn’t sitting in the car when it happened, so that’s a blessing,” he said.<\/p>\n
