Erie County Sheriff John Garcia says that he is moving on from the new Highmark Stadium vandalism investigation, calling it “blown out of proportion.”\u00a0<\/p>\n
Damages inside the stadium earlier this year were originally estimated to cost $150,000, but Garcia says all the graffiti was able to be cleaned off stadium surfaces.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Since the graffiti was found in February, a few people were taken off the job, but no arrests have been made.\u00a0<\/p>\n
In February, graffiti was discovered in several locations at the new stadium, both in finished and unfinished areas of the project site. The joint construction management team of Gilbane | Turner said work was suspended and a full investigation was launched in partnership with contractors and unions. Work resumed days later.<\/p>\n

We have made significant investments in jobsite amenities to support the trade workers performing demanding work, often in challenging weather conditions. They demonstrate professionalism, pride, and respect each and every day.\u201d<\/p>\n
The Buffalo Bills will open<\/a> the new Highmark Stadium against the Detroit Lions in week two of the 2026 NFL regular season on Thursday, Sept. 17.<\/p>\n The full NFL schedule will be released this Thursday at 8 p.m.<\/p>\n
