the company shared in a\u00a0news release that it was testing “Amazon Now,”<\/a>\u00a0its ultra-fast delivery service in parts of Seattle, Washington, and Philadelphia. <\/p>\nNow the service is widely available in the City of Brotherly Love, Atlanta, Dallas\u2013Fort Worth, and Seattle, with service also available and rapid expansion underway in dozens more U.S. cities, including Austin, Houston, Minneapolis, Orlando, Phoenix, Denver and Oklahoma City.<\/p>\n
The company said Amazon Now’s selection focuses on the items customers need most urgently. <\/p>\n
Customers can shop by category, including dairy and eggs, fresh produce, bakery, health, baby, pet, personal care, electronics, and alcohol, where permitted, with personalized product recommendations.<\/p>\n
Amazon said it is using smaller fulfillment sites to cut delivery time, and has strategically placed them close to where Philadelphia-area customers live and work.<\/p>\n
“Amazon Now is for when you need or want the convenience of getting your Amazon order delivered in 30 minutes or less,\u201d said Udit Madan, senior vice president, Amazon Worldwide Operations. \u201cWith thousands of items available for ultra-fast delivery, you can get everything from groceries for dinner, to AirPods before a flight, to household essentials like laundry detergent or toothpaste delivered right to your door.\u201d<\/p>\n
If interested, customers can check the Amazon app and the homepage for the \u201c30-Minute Delivery\u201d option in the navigation bar.<\/p>\n
Prime members\u00a0get discounted delivery fees starting at $3.99 per order, while non-Prime customers pay $13.99. An additional small order fee of $1.99 for Prime members and $3.99 for non-Prime members applies to orders under $15.<\/p>\n
