The federal government made a commitment to reimburse them for those efforts.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The backlog has caused financial strain for the state\u2019s healthcare providers, McCormick added, noting some took on debt and deferred infrastructure upgrades.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">According to FEMA data, eight of the more than 60 payments owed by the agency are to Midstate hospitals:<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Penn State Health \u2013 Holy Spirit Medical Center: $5,265,574.88<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Penn State Health Center \u2013 The Milton S. Hershey Medical Center: $7,695,776.87<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Penn State Health \u2013 The Milton S. Hershey Medical Center: $8,226,686.76<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Chambersburg Hospital: $2,497,068.49<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Chambersburg Hospital: $6,752,720.27<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Gettysburg Hospital Corporation: $3,836,197.26<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The Good Samaritan Hospital of Lebanon: $1,860,516.71<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">York Hospital: $2,292,918.41<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">\u201cThese providers upheld their commitment to Pennsylvanians, and the federal government should uphold its commitment to them,\u201d McCormick said in a statement on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Homeland Security and FEMA did not respond to requests for comment.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Copyright 2026 Nexstar Media, Inc.
