An incident at Grover Cleveland Elementary School is raising concerns among parents in the Erie School District after a student allegedly made a threat toward classmates.<\/p>\n
Erie News Now spoke with Erie School District Coordinator of Public Relations and Strategic Communications Erica Erwin about the incident. She says \u201can assessment team investigated the incident and determined there was no credible threat.\u201d However, some parents say the situation has left them uneasy.<\/p>\n
One parent, whose child was in the classroom at the time, took to social media, writing in part, \u201cHow am I supposed to send my child to school tomorrow after a classmate threatened to come back and shoot up the entire class?\u201d<\/p>\n
The parent also claimed the student involved was removed from the classroom for a short period of time, but later returned during recess and lunch.<\/p>\n
Concerns also spread online from former teacher Rebecca Whitney shared additional details on social media, saying families were notified through a letter sent home with students. The letter stated in part, \u201cYou may have heard another student make a threat to harm the class today. The situation was immediately reported to the administration, and the procedure for reporting a threat was followed.\u201d<\/p>\n
