Reading officials are reminding businesses in the City Revitalization and Improvement Zone, or CRIZ, that they must submit an annual report by June 15.<\/p>\n
The reports detailing certain state and local taxes paid during the 2025 tax year must be filed with the city and state Department of Revenue.<\/p>\n
The process is used to gather information only, officials stressed.<\/p>\n
The CRIZ authority has partnered with an accounting firm to help businesses complete the required reports at no cost.<\/p>\n
Businesses are not required to use the free accounting service and may instead complete the report independently by following instructions available on the city\u2019s CRIZ webpage<\/a>.<\/p>\n Mayor Eddie Moran is encouraging businesses to take advantage of the available assistance and complete the reporting process on time.<\/p>\n \u201cCRIZ continues to play an important role in supporting investment and economic growth in our city,\u201d the mayor said in a statement. \u201cWe want to make this process as easy as possible for our business community, and I encourage all eligible businesses to complete their reporting requirements before the deadline.\u201d<\/p>\n Failure to submit the report by the deadline will result in a noncompliance penalty, CRIZ officials said.<\/p>\n Businesses can schedule appointments for assistance by emailing CRIZ@readingpa.gov or calling 610-655-6286.<\/p>\n
