BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Bethlehem Area School District announced the appointment of a new elementary school principal Thursday.<\/p>\n
Jennifer Cierech, who was appointed as the next principal of Calypso Elementary School, has more than 20 years of experience in the district, BASD said in a news release.<\/p>\n
The district school board must still approve her appointment.<\/p>\n
Currently an Assistant Principal at Broughal Middle School, she previously served in a variety of roles, including Spanish teacher at both the elementary and secondary levels and a Spanish K\u20135 Program Lead, BASD said.<\/p>\n
The district said Cierech recently served as Interim Principal at Calypso Elementary School, ‘\u201cwhere she helped foster a school climate focused on student success and strong relationships with students, staff, and families.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cI am honored to serve the Calypso Elementary community in this new role,\u201d Cierech said.<\/p>\n
