BETHLEHEM, Pa. –\u00a0A crash in Bethlehem left three people injured and two vehicles heavily damaged Thursday afternoon.<\/p>\n

Video shows a white car going the wrong way on Schoenersville Road in Bethlehem, moments before crashing around 12:30 p.m. at New Street and Elizabeth Avenue outside Marilyn Kelly-Cavotta’s home.<\/p>\n

“I heard a car accelerating down the road very quickly and then shortly after the fact I heard a loud impact,” said Marilyn Kelly-Cavotta, a neighbor.<\/p>\n

One of the cars \u2014 believed to be the one seen going the wrong way — caught on fire. That is when Kelly-Cavotta, a former Army medic jumped into action.<\/p>\n

“So, I just started yelling for people to bring out fire extinguishers and somebody from Fratelli’s Pizza and Carl’s Corner each brought out a fire extinguisher and put the car out,” said Kelly-Cavotta.<\/p>\n

Once it was out, she and neighbors moved in.<\/p>\n

“Then we moved on to trying to extricate or to see the person inside,” said Kelly-Cavotta.<\/p>\n

The car sat just feet in front of Danielle Finch’s home.<\/p>\n

“I saw a couple people had gotten knives and were trying to cut the airbag out so they could see if the person inside was okay,” said Finch.<\/p>\n

Two other people were hurt in the other car involved. Police said all three people were taken to the hospital. Kelly-Cavotta said firefighters needed to use the jaws of life to get the person out of the car she was trying to help.<\/p>\n

“I was thankful that they arrived when they did and you know, gladly moved off to the side,” said Kelly-Cavotta.<\/p>\n

She has this message for drivers going through this intersection where she said there has been many accidents before.<\/p>\n

“Just slow down, 27 years I’ve seen the traffic down this road and it seems just to be coming a raceway,” said Kelly-Cavotta.<\/p>\n

Authorities say that as a result of the collision, a utility pole was severed, causing live electrical wires to fall onto the roadway and creating an additional hazard for emergency responders and the public.<\/p>\n

There is no word on the conditions of the three people who were taken to the hospital. This intersection remains closed.
