(WIVT\/WBGH) \u2013 New York State Police is reminding motorists that fleeing in a vehicle to another state to avoid a ticket or an arrest will not prevent Troopers from finding you.<\/p>\n
On October 14, at approximately 5:45 a.m., a Trooper observed a Hyundai sedan following a vehicle too close on Interstate 81. The driver then failed to stop at a stop sign at the bottom of the exit 1 off ramp near State Route 11, then again at the intersection of Conklin-Kirkwood Bridge.<\/p>\n
The trooper attempted to initiate a traffic stop, but the operator took off at a high rate of speed, traveling down several roads, continuing to make more vehicle and traffic infractions, and ultimately driving into the state of Pennsylvania.<\/p>\n
With the assistance of the Pennsylvania State Police, Troopers were able to locate the vehicle and driver.<\/p>\n
Darrow turned himself in at the State Police Binghamton barracks and was processed.<\/p>\n
Darrow was issued traffic tickets ad well as an appearance ticket to the Kirkwood Town Court on November 5.<\/p>\n
New York State Police say crossing state lines does not shield a person from legal consequences, it could potentially make charges even higher.<\/p>\n
