West Scranton<\/a> hasn’t had much luck against North Pocono<\/a> recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Invaders will venture away from home to challenge the Trojans at 4:30 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.<\/p>\n

West Scranton is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They were the clear victors by a 16-4 margin over Scranton on Thursday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team’s high-flying offense, the game also marked the team’s biggest win of the season.<\/p>\n

West Scranton let Mason Lesh<\/a> and Tyler Scotch<\/a> run wild. Lesh got on base in all five of his plate appearances with four runs, three RBI, and one stolen base, while Scotch went 4-for-5 with five RBI, one run, and one double. Those four runs gave Lesh a new career-high. Cameron Cole<\/a> also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.<\/p>\n

West Scranton always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .659. That’s the best OBP they’ve posted all season.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, North Pocono came tearing into Tuesday’s game with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 9-7 victory over the Comets. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last seven times they’ve met, the home team has come away the winner.<\/p>\n

Jake Reese<\/a> was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI. North Pocono is undefeated when Reese posts two or more runs, but 6-10 otherwise. Josh Kalinowski<\/a> was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two runs and two RBI.<\/p>\n

West Scranton’s record now sits at 5-14. As for North Pocono, their record is now 9-10.<\/p>\n

West Scranton beat North Pocono 7-2 when the teams last played back in April. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Invaders since the team won’t have the home-field advantage this time around. We’ll see if the change in venue makes a difference.<\/p>\n
