PHILADELPHIA, PA \u2014 The United States Postal Service will host a career fair Saturday in Philadelphia as the agency recruits for carrier, automotive technician and maintenance positions across the region.<\/p>\n

The hiring event will run from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the Postal Service\u2019s Philadelphia District facility at 3190 S. 70th St.<\/p>\n

According to the agency, openings include city and rural carrier positions as well as automotive technician and maintenance roles.<\/p>\n

USPS spokesman Paul Smith said the event is intended to recruit workers locally for positions within the Philadelphia area.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have city and rural carrier positions available as well as auto tech and maintenance positions,\u201d Smith said.<\/p>\n

Applicants must be at least 18 years old at the time of appointment, or 16 years old with a high school diploma, according to the Postal Service. Candidates must also pass a criminal background check and, where applicable, maintain a safe driving record.<\/p>\n

The Postal Service said eligible applicants must be U.S. citizens, permanent residents or citizens of American Samoa or another U.S. territory for at least five years.<\/p>\n
