The UPMC Magee-Women\u2019s Research Institute brought women\u2019s health research to the forefront at its annual Seeds of Hope Luncheon, an event dedicated to raising awareness, supporting scientific advancements, and celebrating community leadership in Erie.<\/p>\n
This year\u2019s luncheon also paid special tribute to Diane Mitra for her leadership in building a grassroots movement that has expanded awareness and helped secure vital research funding for gynecological health in the region. Her efforts have played a key role in bringing attention to the importance of women\u2019s health research and ensuring continued investment in the field.<\/p>\n
The event featured insightful presentations on a range of women\u2019s health issues, along with a panel discussion that underscored both the progress made and the challenges that remain. Organizers say the Seeds of Hope initiative continues to serve as a platform for education, advocacy, and collaboration.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe still have the Seeds of Hope luncheon every year to raise money to support the research but also to celebrate the vision that Diana had,\u201d said Michael Annichine, CEO of Magee-Women\u2019s Research Institute.<\/p>\n
Local leaders emphasized the importance of keeping the community informed about the resources and research taking place in Erie. \u201cOur goal here at the Seeds of Hope is to continue to get the word out that the Magee-Women\u2019s Research Institute is here in Erie,\u201d said Dr. Halina Zyczynski, Medical Director of Magee-Women\u2019s Research Institute in Erie.<\/p>\n
