PHILADELPHIA COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM) \u2014 A Pennsylvania man accused of effectively running a pawn shop as a fence pleaded guilty to federal charges this week.<\/p>\n
Larry Leonard, 62, of Philadelphia, pleaded guilty to federal charges of conspiracy to transport and sell stolen goods in interstate commerce, interstate transportation of stolen property, and three counts of money laundering.<\/p>\n
According to the U.S. Attorney\u2019s Office for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, Leonard, a pawn shop owner, was charged in December in connection with millions of dollars of stolen golds bought through his shops in Philadelphia and in Wilmington, Delaware, and sold online.<\/p>\n
He was accused of purchasing millions in high-end electronics, power tools, and more, all stolen from big-box retail stores by professional thieves or drug attics, and selling them for a profit.<\/p>\n
The scheme included more than $19 Million in stolen merchandise sold and shipped from a Philadelphia pawn shop.<\/p>\n
