A Scranton woman is charged with endangering a child, after she allegedly failed to protect a teenager from sexual abuse and then encouraged her to lie to police about what happened, according to a criminal complaint.<\/p>\n
Carrie Flores, of 1356 Penn Ave., faces felony charges of intimidating a witness and endangering a child.<\/p>\n
According to the complaint, on July 7, 2025, the teenager was interviewed at the Child Advocacy Center. She said an adult male had abused her for over a year.<\/p>\n
She said Flores, 33, knew of the abuse, but refused to help her.<\/p>\n
During an interview at the police station on August 14, Flores, 33, of 1356 Penn Ave, allegedly admitted she refused to believe the juvenile because she thought she had never been alone with the suspect.<\/p>\n
The teenager said Flores asked her to recant her story.<\/p>\n
Earlier this year,\u00a0the family moved to Texas, where law enforcement officers conducted additional interviews.<\/p>\n
Flores remains at Lackawanna County Prison in lieu of $100,000.<\/p>\n
