Maryland State Police said the hoist mission was carried out with help from ground providers from Lancaster County Fire and Rescue. After being lifted from the island, the patient was flown to WellSpan York Hospital, according to troopers. “We have since received word that the patient is doing well,” the Rawlinsville Volunteer Fire Company said. A person was airlifted from an island in the Susquehanna River in Lancaster County on Thursday, according to police. <\/p>\n

Police said a person was assaulted on Piney Island in the river, located just south of the Holtwood Dam in Martic Township, shortly before noon on Thursday.<\/p>\n
