{"id":195,"date":"2025-10-14T22:46:19","date_gmt":"2025-10-14T22:46:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/195\/"},"modified":"2025-10-14T22:46:19","modified_gmt":"2025-10-14T22:46:19","slug":"bucks-county-spca-nbc10-philadelphia","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/195\/","title":{"rendered":"Bucks County SPCA \u2013 NBC10 Philadelphia"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Bucks County SPCA rescued 67 cats and kittens from a shelter in Bensalem where the furry pets &#8220;suffered from long-term lack of sanitation and proper veterinary care.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>According to the Bucks County SPCA, the cats were saved from the nonprofit Cats Bridge to Rescue in Bensalem, where the animals were found in conditions described as &#8220;filthy&#8221; and &#8220;awful.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Some cats were confined in filthy cages, others were free roaming. The large room was filled with trash and animal waste and was smelled strongly of urine,&#8221; Bucks County SPCA <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/share\/p\/1C89SBntMw\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/share\/p\/1C89SBntMw\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">said in a Facebook post<\/a>. &#8220;Flies and fleas were visible throughout the facility. Sadly, many of the cats are in very poor condition.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The cats were taken to the Lahaska Shelter where they were given medical exams and treatment, the Bucks County SPCA said. <\/p>\n<p>The cats are being treated for fleas, ear mites, upper respiratory infections and severe diarrhea, the group said. <\/p>\n<p>Two of the kittens died from highly contagious panleukopenia, the group said.<\/p>\n<p>The owner of Cats Bridge to Rescue is facing animal cruelty and neglect charges.
