{"id":195774,"date":"2026-05-18T17:53:11","date_gmt":"2026-05-18T17:53:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/195774\/"},"modified":"2026-05-18T17:53:11","modified_gmt":"2026-05-18T17:53:11","slug":"pittsburgh-steelers-sign-qb-aaron-rodgers-to-1-year-deal","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/195774\/","title":{"rendered":"Pittsburgh Steelers sign QB Aaron Rodgers to 1-year deal"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>May 18 (UPI) &#8212; The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.upi.com\/topic\/Pittsburgh_Steelers\/\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"Pittsburgh Steelers\" class=\"tpstyle\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Pittsburgh Steelers<\/a> signed quarterback <a href=\"https:\/\/www.upi.com\/topic\/Aaron_Rodgers\/\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"Aaron Rodgers\" class=\"tpstyle\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Aaron Rodgers<\/a> to a one-year contract, the team announced Monday.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/contributor\/adam-schefter\/2c960b658fabd\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Sources told ESPN<\/a> and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.post-gazette.com\/sports\/steelers\/2026\/05\/18\/rodgers-contract-sign-facility-otas-mccarthy-khan\/stories\/202605180033\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Pittsburgh Post-Gazette<\/a> that the pact is worth up to $25 million, with $22 million in guarantees. Rodgers, 42, signed a one-year, $13.6 million contract last off-season when he joined the Steelers in free agency.\n<\/p>\n<p>The four-time NFL MVP completed 65.7% of his passes for 3,222 yards, 24 scores and seven interceptions last season. He went 10-6 as a starter for the Steelers, who won the AFC North division title but lost in the first round of the playoffs.<\/p>\n<p>Rodgers is set to lead a quarterbacks room that also features <a href=\"https:\/\/www.upi.com\/topic\/Mason-Rudolph\/\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"Mason Rudolph\" class=\"tpstyle\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Mason Rudolph<\/a>, Will Howard and Drew Allar, a third-round pick by the Steelers in the 2026 NFL Draft.<\/p>\n<p>Rodgers reported to Pittsburgh on Monday, when the Steelers held their first day of organized team activities.
