A 35-year-old Throop man posted messages on social media threatening to kill State Sen. Marty Flynn, D-22, Dunmore, and local business owner Steve Masterson, police said.<\/p>\n
On Monday, county detective Harold Zech received information regarding the threatening statements posted on Facebook by a user operating under the name \u201cJimmy Goble,\u201d according to a criminal complaint.<\/p>\n
A review of the profile revealed multiple public posts and comments containing violent rhetoric, threats of homicide, and erratic statements, police said.<\/p>\n
One post stated that Goble was \u201cgoing straight after Marty Flynn and Steve Masterson\u201d and \u201cthe moment I become homeless \u2026 I will kill them both,\u201d according to the criminal complaint.<\/p>\n
The same post said Goble would \u201clook up both of their addresses for the future,\u201d police said.<\/p>\n
Further review of the Facebook profile showed uploaded photos and documents appearing to identify the account holder as Jimmy Lee Goble \u2014 including a trespass warning document listing a Throop address associated with Goble, investigators said.<\/p>\n
The profile also listed a date of birth for Goble consistent to records known to investigators, police said.<\/p>\n
Additionally, police learned Goble was previously investigated by Dunmore police for erratic behavior after being terminated from a local business, according to the criminal complaint.<\/p>\n
Police charged Goble, 2 Olendike St., with terroristic threats and harassment.<\/p>\n
