ALLENTOWN, Pa. – Police say a child was hit by a car during a busy time of the night on Saturday.<\/p>\n
It happened at the intersection of Hamilton and Sixth Street according to police.<\/p>\n
Now, city officials are sending a message about safety.<\/p>\n
On Saturday this busy intersection in Center City Allentown quickly turned into a crime scene.<\/p>\n
According to police, a child was hit by a car.<\/p>\n
“On Saturday I was officiating a wedding and sad to say the bride actually saw what happened and she was shaken by it,” says Cynthia Mota, Vice President of the Allentown City Council.<\/p>\n

She says she is trying to help make the streets safer.<\/p>\n
“We’re working really hard with public works when it comes to the infrastructure and changing the lights I mean you name it,” says Mota.<\/p>\n
While council continues to approve funding and new projects, Mota emphasizes that drivers and pedestrians need to do their part.<\/p>\n
“We don’t wanna see people driving fast it only takes just one moment to change a person’s life and it’s not worth it,” says Mota.<\/p>\n
