Pennsylvania’s primary election is Tuesday.<\/p>\n
From 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 19, registered Democrats and Republicans can cast their ballots.<\/p>\n
“The department of state has been working with our partners at the counties to make sure everyone is prepared at the county-level where our elections are conducted,” said Al Schmidt, Secretary of the Commonwealth, during a Monday news conference.<\/p>\n
Election officials say as long as you are in line by 8:00 p.m., you can vote.<\/p>\n
If you’re voting by mail and haven’t submitted your ballot yet, Schmidt says you have until Election Day to drop it off in person.<\/p>\n
“If you still have your mail ballot, I would suggest at this point return it to your county board of elections office or a county board of elections drop box if one is available in your county. When you get it, don’t delay in returning it but life does sometimes get in the way,” Schmidt stated.<\/p>\n
Only you can turn in your own ballot. If you’re dropping off for someone else or someone is dropping off for you, it won’t be accepted with some exceptions or those who have accommodations.<\/p>\n
“They [election officials] go through great lengths to make sure every eligible vote is counted and that no ineligible votes are counted,” Schmidt said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Pennsylvania’s primary election is Tuesday.
