ERIE, Pa. (WKBN) \u2014 A Youngstown man who was one of 15 people indicted last week in federal court for selling drugs in Erie, Pa., could be sentenced to 40 years in prison if convicted.<\/p>\n
Luis Serrano-Mojica, 34, pleaded not guilty Monday at his arraignment before U.S. Magistrate Judge Richard A. Lanzillo to one count of possession with intent to distribute 500 grams or more of cocaine.<\/p>\n
Bond was set at $10,000.<\/p>\n
A new court date has not been set yet. The case has been assigned to U.S. Judge Susan Paradise Baxter.<\/p>\n
U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Pennsylvania Troy Rivetti announced the indictments Monday.<\/p>\n
Rivetti said in a news release that the 15 men, who are from Erie and Western New York, were indicted following an investigation by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.<\/p>\n
Serrano-Mojica is the only defendant from Ohio. He was arrested after the indictments were handed down Thursday.<\/p>\n
The indictment in the case is short on specifics, but charges the 15 with conspiring to sell and selling drugs in the Erie area since October.<\/p>\n
The government is also looking to seize over $102,000 in cash, including over $63,000 at an address in Erie and the rest from two addresses in Jamestown, N.Y.<\/p>\n
