The solar arrays will be installed at the city&#8217;s public works campus and the Cedar Street parking lot near city hall. Once completed, the systems are expected to offset the full electricity costs at those city facilities.<\/p>\n<p>Through Pennsylvania&#8217;s Guaranteed Energy Savings Act (GESA), the initiative is projected to save the municipality $13.5 million in energy expenses. Reading&#8217;s mayor, Eddie Moran, stated that the groundbreaking marks a significant step forward, helping to lower costs, stabilize the energy budget, reduce air pollution, and make city facilities more sustainable.
