ALLENTOWN, Pa. – Pennsylvania State Police say they seized a counterfeit $100 bill from a vehicle in Allentown earlier this month, leading them to believe there could be a larger counterfeit currency scheme.<\/p>\n
Troopers conducted a traffic stop on May 5 on a vehicle on Union Boulevard in Allentown suspected to be involved in numerous thefts, according to a news release from state police.<\/p>\n
The people in the vehicle were identified, and counterfeit currency was seized from the vehicle, state police said.<\/p>\n
The vehicle is believed to be part of a widescale counterfeit currency scheme spanning the Lehigh Valley and Philadelphia areas, according to the news release.<\/p>\n
