ALLENTOWN, Pa. – It\u2019s a day when political heat becomes literal.<\/p>\n
“We need to be here. This is part of the job.”<\/p>\n
For this State Rep. candidate, on her first Pennsylvania Primary, that means, despite mid 90’s temps, greeting voters till polls close.<\/p>\n
“The water you need to live right? But without the right candidate, you won’t even be able to afford the water,” said a supporter at the North Whitehall polling location.<\/p>\n
Luckily, Joeseph Stemrich can and his cooler is packed with cold water bottles.<\/p>\n
The proud uncle stood outside Allentown’s AG Hall from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in support of his nephew, finding shade, and relying on fashion to stay cool.<\/p>\n
“Dip these in the cold water. You take them out and you put them around your scarf like that, and it really goes a long way to keep it cool and comfortable throughout,\u201d Stemrich explained.<\/p>\n
For some voters, like Marie Kolsako, discomfort is simply part of the participation.<\/p>\n
