BERLIN, New Jersey (WPVI) — ‘Our Community Salutes’<\/a> delivers a special kind of pomp and circumstance for those who are stepping out of high school and right into the military.<\/p>\n

The organization was started in South Jersey by Army veteran Kenneth Hartman, who was working on the Cherry Hill School Board in 2009.<\/p>\n

He wanted to create an event to recognize students, offer support to parents, and provide resources for their families.<\/p>\n

‘Our Community Salutes’ has grown into a nationwide campaign with dozens of ceremonies in various states each year.<\/p>\n

Recently, one such event was held at Lucien’s Manor in Berlin, New Jersey. Over 100 enlistees were given a warm welcome by military personnel, veterans, community leaders, and more.<\/p>\n
