{"id":197990,"date":"2026-05-20T16:45:24","date_gmt":"2026-05-20T16:45:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/197990\/"},"modified":"2026-05-20T16:45:24","modified_gmt":"2026-05-20T16:45:24","slug":"coast-guard-rescues-3-people-from-lake-erie-near-kelleys-island","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/197990\/","title":{"rendered":"Coast Guard rescues 3 people from Lake Erie near Kelleys Island"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"text | article-text\">ERIE COUNTY, Ohio (WOIO) &#8211; Three people were rescued from Lake Erie Tuesday evening after falling into the water near Kelleys Island around 6:30 p.m.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">A Coast Guard Station Marblehead 45-foot Response Boat was immediately sent to the area and found the first two people.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">They brought them to an EMS crew waiting on shore.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">A third person was unaccounted for, so the Coast Guard launched a rescue helicopter from Detroit.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Helicopter crew members spotted the third person treading water and clinging to a life jacket.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Coast Guard members on a nearby boat then brought that person to shore.<\/p>\n<p>Copyright 2026 WOIO.
