S. HEIDELBERG TWP., Pa. – A golf tournament is helping to build empathy on the green.<\/p>\n
The Vision Resource Center of Berks County held its 9th Annual golf tournament fundraiser this afternoon.<\/p>\n
More than 80 golfers played 18-holes at Galen Hall Golf Club in South Heidelberg Township.<\/p>\n
Many also took on the blindfolded putting contest, relying on verbal cues from a guide to try to sink their shot.<\/p>\n
“People are very leery about trying it, but once they try it they really do enjoy it. It’s something that they never even think about. We take our sight for granted,” said Lori Peters, president and CEO of Vision Resource Center of Berks County.<\/p>\n
Money raised will help the group provide things like eye screenings for children and monthly support groups.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"S.
