LOWER BUCKS COUNTY, PA \u2014 As the Route 1 Traffic Improvements Project continues, PennDOT is gearing up for Phase III.<\/p>\n
TMA Bucks, Bucks County’s transportation agency based in Bensalem Township, said that the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation is seeking public feedback on the project.<\/p>\n
The project on Route 1 and Rockhill Drive in Bensalem and Middletown townships falls under a $116 million project to reconstruct, widen, and improve a three-mile section of the highway.<\/p>\n
PennDOT said that Phase III construction is anticipated to start in the fall of 2029, with construction set for completion in the fall of 2033. <\/p>\n
The cost and the contrator has yet to be determined, PennDOT said.<\/p>\n
Phase III improvements will extend from a point north of the Penndel Interchange to just north of the Corn Crib Lane overpass. <\/p>\n
