{"id":199675,"date":"2026-05-22T09:01:16","date_gmt":"2026-05-22T09:01:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/199675\/"},"modified":"2026-05-22T09:01:16","modified_gmt":"2026-05-22T09:01:16","slug":"american-launches-flights-from-philadelphia-to-budapest-prague-nbc10-philadelphia","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/199675\/","title":{"rendered":"American launches flights from Philadelphia to Budapest, Prague \u2013 NBC10 Philadelphia"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It&#8217;s time to break out your passport! <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.aa.com\/homePage.do?locale=en_US\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">American Airlines<\/a> has launched new nonstop flights to Budapest, Hungary, and Prague, Czech Republic, from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.phl.org\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Philadelphia International Airport<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The company <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcphiladelphia.com\/news\/local\/american-airlines-philly-airport-budapest-prague\/4250639\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">announced its new offering last August<\/a>, stating that these flights would make American Airlines the only airline offering nonstop service to Budapest from the United States.<\/p>\n<p>Service to Budapest and Prague kicked off on May 21, 2026. <\/p>\n<p>The flights will operate on a Boeing 787-8 aircraft and tickets are available to purchase\u00a0at\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/aa.com\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">aa.com<\/a>\u00a0or on the American Airlines app.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>This is the third consecutive summer in which American Airlines has added new European destinations from PHL. <\/p>\n<p>In 2024, American Airlines added service to Nice, France, and Copenhagen, Denmark, and in 2025, American Airlines added service to Milan and Edinburgh, Scotland.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s a privilege to connect Philadelphia to the world with unparalleled access to more than 120 global destinations and we\u2019re excited to strengthen our network with service to Budapest and Prague,\u201d said American Airlines Vice President of PHL Operations Lakshman Amaranyaka. \u201cThese two cities are rich with culture and history, allowing customers to enjoy the world-renowned thermal bath and spas in Hungary, as well as the iconic medieval architecture of the Czech Republic.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>This summer, PHL is projected to welcome almost 9.4 million travelers from June through August, about a 6.3% increase over summer 2025\u2019s 8.8 million guests.<\/p>\n<p>Officials said July is expected to be PHL\u2019s busiest month of the summer, with an estimated 3.2 million departing and arriving passengers.<\/p>\n<p>In preparation for the increased number of travelers, the airport has made improvements, including new landscaping on the departures roadway, more renovated restrooms, bright electronic information displays in ticketing and across the airport, and enhanced holdroom seating areas with charging capabilities.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"It&#8217;s time to break out your passport!
