Earlier this week, one of the best local prep hockey players in recent years finalized his decision to continue his playing career to the next level of the sport.<\/p>\n

Recent Riverview Gabriel Richard graduate Connor Forster has formally signed to play for the Wilkes-Barre\/Scranton Knights come next season.<\/p>\n

A former three-time first-team all-News-Herald honoree, Forster has been a key centerpiece for the Richard hockey program throughout his prep career.<\/p>\n

A four-year varsity player, Forster has played in over 100 regular season and state playoff games for the Pioneers. In that time, he compiled 89 career points. That includes a 12-goal, 15-assist senior season<\/a> in which Richard was once again regarded as one of the top programs in Division 3.<\/p>\n

Formed in 2007, the Wilkes-Barre\/Scranton Knights are a junior developmental program that competes in the United States Premier Hockey League (USPHL).
