Erie United Methodist Alliance (EUMA) will be celebrating the 14th season of Our Neighbors\u2019 Place (ONP) the Seasonal Overflow Shelter with a special event showing appreciation for the volunteers.<\/p>\n
The event will be held on May 22 from 6 p.m. until 7 p.m. and will share the stories of 15 individuals who were able to move from homeless to home while staying at ONP while celebrating the volunteers who helped make this happen.<\/p>\n
During the winter season Our Neighbors\u2019 Place is a resource for those in the Erie community experiencing housing crises by providing warmth, safety, and compassionate care. The shelter provides access to nightly meals, showers, and safe sleeping spaces.<\/p>\n
For 126 nights the shelter offered safe spaces for 328 homeless neighbors with a total of 6,782 bed nights. Each night the average guests was 54. For 29 nights the ONP sheltered over 60 guests.<\/p>\n
