{"id":200126,"date":"2026-05-22T20:09:07","date_gmt":"2026-05-22T20:09:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/200126\/"},"modified":"2026-05-22T20:09:07","modified_gmt":"2026-05-22T20:09:07","slug":"shapiro-admin-appoints-state-librarian-of-pennsylvania","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/200126\/","title":{"rendered":"Shapiro Admin appoints State Librarian of Pennsylvania"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">(WHTM)\u2013 The Shapiro Administration announced the appointment of a new State Librarian of Pennsylvania on Friday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">According to the Shapiro Administration, the Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) Secretary Dr. Carrie Rowe announced that Heather Sharpe will be the state\u2019s new Deputy Secretary of the Office of Commonwealth Libraries (OCL) and State Librarian effective May 30.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">This comes as the current Deputy Secretary and State Librarian, Susan Banks, retires.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">\u201cOne of the enduring truths of leadership is that every ending also creates space for a new beginning.
