{"id":200786,"date":"2026-05-23T17:15:19","date_gmt":"2026-05-23T17:15:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/200786\/"},"modified":"2026-05-23T17:15:19","modified_gmt":"2026-05-23T17:15:19","slug":"organizers-reveal-plans-for-pittsburghs-juneteenth-celebration-wpxi","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/200786\/","title":{"rendered":"Organizers reveal plans for Pittsburgh\u2019s Juneteenth celebration \u2013 WPXI"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">PITTSBURGH \u2014 With the start of summer here, organizers are getting ready for Pittsburgh\u2019s Juneteenth celebration. <\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">This will mark the 161st year of recognition of African American freedom. <\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">Organizers say that Pittsburgh\u2019s celebration is now the largest Juneteenth celebration in the state, with the main events planned for Point State Park and Market Square. <\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">\u201cInside of market square, we identified that we\u2019re going to have a festival for the old school community, but what we\u2019re going to do at Point State Park is for our younger generation, 35 and younger, we have some great entertainment that\u2019s coming through both venues,\u201d organizer B.
