A 20-year-old Erie man was killed Monday afternoon in a motorcycle crash in Summit Township, according to Pennsylvania State Police.<\/p>\n

The crash happened around 1:15 p.m. on Edinboro Rd., south of Hershey Rd.<\/p>\n

Investigators said a 39-year-old man from Spencer, New York, was driving a Volvo SUV north on Edinboro Rd. and tried to turn left into business when he crossed into the path of a motorcyclist.<\/p>\n

The motorcycle, driven by Tyler Storicks, 20, of Erie, then hit the SUV.<\/p>\n

Storicks was taken to UPMC Hamot, where he was pronounced dead. The man driving the SUV was not hurt.<\/p>\n

State police said the investigation is ongoing.<\/p>\n

Storicks had been a firefighter for Fairfield Hose Company, according to a post from the fire department on Facebook<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cTyler was more than a firefighter,\u201d the post said. \u201cHe was a brother, a friend, a nephew, a son, a grandson and a dedicated member of our fire service family who answered the call to serve his community with pride and compassion. His loss leaves an emptiness that words cannot fully express.<\/p>\n
