BETHLEHEM TWP., Pa. – Bethlehem Township police say a 20-year-old man is in critical condition after falling off the trunk of a vehicle he was riding on at a shopping center.<\/p>\n
Officers were sent to the accident on Madison Boulevard Friday at the Madison Farms Shopping Center east driveway intersection entrance shortly before 6 p.m., according to a news release from township police.<\/p>\n
That\u2019s just north of Freemansburg Avenue.<\/p>\n
It was reported that a man was riding on the trunk of a vehicle traveling from the west part of the shopping center complex to its east side, police said.<\/p>\n
Township police say he fell off of the vehicle\u2019s trunk and hit his head on the roadway as the vehicle crossed over Madison Boulevard to enter the shopping center east driveway entrance.<\/p>\n
Officers found the man unconscious on the roadway, according to township police. He was taken to a local hospital for treatment.<\/p>\n
While the vehicle in which the man was riding on was initially reported to have fled the scene, it returned to the scene as officers were conducting their initial investigation, according to the news release.<\/p>\n
Police said the man remains in critical condition.<\/p>\n
