READING, Pa – Students from Berks County and beyond have summer in their sights and paid a visit to FirstEnergy Stadium for some Education Day baseball.<\/p>\n
Students filled the concourse, concessions and stands for the school getaway day with their friends and teachers.<\/p>\n
“Beautiful day to get them outside of the classroom. Beautiful day out,” said Chris Schenkel, a teacher with The King;s Academy. “This is great.”<\/p>\n
“It’s really exciting and I’m really glad I get to be here with my friends too,” said student Cassidy Schenkel.<\/p>\n
It’s not just about baseball as the students here got some hands-on science experience with the Reading Public Museum.<\/p>\n
“We got to talk about some physics that happens in sports,” said Lauren with Reading Public Museum. “We love coming to events like this and raising awareness about our museum and getting the kids to come and do science and art and things like that.”<\/p>\n
“Here we are making 3D bubbles,” said Sammie with Reading Public Museum. “I’ve chosen some of these to create an abstract piece of art but you can also create 3D shapes like this and you cover it all in the mixture and you can make 3D bubbles.”<\/p>\n
As the school year comes to an end, students and staff are enjoying the final days before summer together in Baseballtown.<\/p>\n
“This is surprising and fun. This is my second time being here ever since I went with my brother,” said student Miarose Noel.<\/p>\n
Students were excited to be in Baseballtown.<\/p>\n
“I like sitting out with my friends and talking with them,” said student Clara Zimmerman from King’s Academy.<\/p>\n
