The Erie Otters have taken another major step toward enhancing player development by naming Tyler Travis as the club\u2019s new Strength and Conditioning Coach.<\/p>\n
The announcement was made by General Manager Dave Brown and Director of Hockey Operations Scott Grieve, reinforcing the organization\u2019s commitment to remaining one of the premier development programs in the Ontario Hockey League.<\/p>\n
A native of Erie, Travis currently serves as Director of Strength and Conditioning at Mercyhurst University, overseeing performance training for all varsity sports. His connection with the Otters is already well established, having assisted with the club\u2019s training camps in recent years.<\/p>\n
Travis brings more than 15 years of experience working with athletes at every level, from youth hockey to professional sports. His r\u00e9sum\u00e9 includes work with the Erie BayHawks, USA Hockey player development camps and the professional three-on-three league 3ICE. Last season, he also contributed to performance testing at training camp for the New York Rangers.<\/p>\n
“We are excited to welcome Tyler Travis to the Erie Otters organization as our Strength and Conditioning Coach,” Grieve said. “Tyler brings a wealth of knowledge and a vast experience working at the NCAA Division I, USA Hockey, NHL and NBA G League level. Tyler possesses a passion for athlete development and a commitment to helping our players maximize their performance both on and off the ice.”<\/p>\n
Grieve praised the addition, calling Travis \u201ca valuable asset\u201d with elite-level experience and a strong passion for athlete growth and performance.<\/p>\n
For the Otters, the move signals more than just a staffing addition. It reflects the organization\u2019s broader vision of providing players with top-tier development resources both on and off the ice.<\/p>\n
“Organizationally, it is paramount for the Erie Otters to continue to be at the forefront of the Ontario Hockey League in terms of player development and player resources,” Grieve said. “Tyler is a valuable addition to the Otters.”<\/p>\n
