SALISBURY TOWNSHIP, Pa. – An intersection in Lehigh County is closed until further notice on Wednesday due to a police incident.<\/p>\n
Salisbury Township Police have the intersection of Route 145 and South 4th Street closed until further notice due to a police incident in the area of South Pike Avenue, according to county dispatchers.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Dispatchers say that police will be on the scene and the road will be closed until further notice.\u00a0<\/p>\n
A U-Haul trailer struck a Verizon utility pole at South 4th and Normandy Streets, severely damaging the pole and bringing down wires around 5:00 p.m..<\/p>\n
Allentown police responded to the scene and were assisted by Salisbury Township police.\u00a0<\/p>\n
As of 7:00 p.m., police were still waiting on Verizon crews to repair the damage, according to officials.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Authorities say that nobody was injured in the incident.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Drivers are asked to avoid the area of Route 145, South 4th Street, and East Rock Road, and to take West Rock Road, or Route 145 to 309 South, to I-78 as a detour.\u00a0<\/p>\n
