<\/p>\nSCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE\/WYOU) \u2014 New details have been released for this summer\u2019s FIFA Fan Zone in Scranton at a press conference Thursday afternoon.<\/p>\n
Dates <\/p>\n
This summer, the fan zone will be happening on two separate weekends during the month of July. The first weekend will be July 4-5. On Saturday, July 4, the Scranton Fan Zone will be open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.<\/p>\n
Sunday, July 5, the hours of operation will be 2 p.m. to 11 p.m.<\/p>\n
The second weekend will be July 18-19. On Saturday, July 18, the Fan Zone will be open from 3p.m. to 8p.m. for the World Cup Bronze Final, the third-place match.<\/p>\n
Sunday, July 19, will be the final day of the World Cup. The hours of operation will be from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. The 2026 FIFA World Cup Final match starts at 3 p.m.<\/p>\n
How to watch<\/p>\n
The nearly 400 square foot-screen will be stationed at the center of North Washington Avenue in front of the Lackawanna County Courthouse.<\/p>\n
There will also be four additional four, 54 square-foot screen spread throughout the Courthouse Square to during the hours of operation.<\/p>\n
What else is there to do? <\/p>\n
The Onvo Kids Zone: This space will feature an inflatable soccer game and soccer target, and obstacle course and a slide.<\/p>\n
Skills & Drills Clinics: These clinics will be hosted by local soccer clubs in designated areas throughout the event in downtown Scranton.<\/p>\n
LED Soccer Simulator: This is high-tech, 225 square-foot simulator tentatively scheduled for fan use during the event.<\/p>\n
Beer and Margarita Gardens: On either side of the nearly 400 square-foot screen, there will be beer and margarita gardens for people over the age of 21 to enjoy.<\/p>\n
Closed Roads<\/p>\n
According to the City of Scranton, the roads highlighted in red will be closed during both weekends of the FIFA Fan Zone. The city tells 28\/22 News, the roads being closed and the overall design of the Fan Zone is to highlight the local businesses Scranton has to offer.<\/p>\n

According to county and city leaders, there is going to be more details released as the dates get closer.<\/p>\n
Event organizers hinted at the possibility of a \u201cnationwide performer\u201d coming to Scranton during one of the FIFA Fan Zone dates.<\/p>\n
