The Erie Downtown Partnership will join Studio Surrender owners Vicke and Kevin Marz on June 4 at 1 p.m. for a ribbon-cutting ceremony celebrating the grand opening of the studio at 19 W. 4th St.<\/p>\n
Studio Surrender offers a wellness experience centered around hot yoga, breathwork, and recovery modalities not previously available in Erie.<\/p>\n
Vicke Marz has practiced the Original Series 26 & 2 style of hot yoga since 2010. After moving to Erie in 2016, she found no local studio offering the practice and regularly traveled to Pittsburgh, Cleveland, and Buffalo for classes. She later began offering sessions in a small studio space at the Victoria Inn Bed and Breakfast, which she and Kevin owned, before eventually opening a permanent location in the Meuser Building.<\/p>\n
In addition to daily yoga classes, Studio Surrender offers Elemental Rhythm Breathwork experiences, ColdTub cold plunge, infrared and red-light therapy, retail items, and rotating pop-up offerings including IV therapy, sound healing, Ayurveda consultations, nutrition consultations, and stretch clinics. Vicke Marz is also the first certified Elemental Rhythm Breathwork facilitator in Erie.<\/p>\n
\u201cStudio Surrender is a long-awaited dream. It was always meant to be a sanctuary where people can reset, reconnect, and feel supported. Opening downtown allows us to contribute to the momentum of Erie while creating a space that welcomes everyone exactly as they are,\u201d said Vicke Marz.<\/p>\n
The studio is located inside the historic Meuser Building, built in 1873, which was acquired in 2024 by the Historic Erie Preservation Trust and restored in partnership with Kidder Architects. Renovations included updates from the basement to the roof, a heating and cooling system, spa-inspired bathrooms with showers, dedicated wellness and retail spaces, and one of the city\u2019s largest yoga studios.<\/p>\n
