The Cold Case Unit consists of the Erie Police Department, The Erie District Attorney\u2019s office and Pennsylvania Police.<\/p>\n
They are seeking the public\u2019s assistance in two rape investigations that occurred in 2012 and 2015.<\/p>\n
Lt. Craig Stoker of Major Crimes and Corporal Mark Olowin are leading investigation.<\/p>\n
The first investigation goes back to January 6, 2012.<\/p>\n
It was just after 9:00 pm in the 400 block of West 38th Street in Erie.<\/p>\n
A female was walking westbound when she physically and sexually assaulted by an unknown male.<\/p>\n
A witness later discovered the victim near a ravine at West 38th & Glenwood Park.<\/p>\n
The suspect fled.<\/p>\n
Police put out a description of the suspect.<\/p>\n
Black Male.<\/p>\n
5\u20197 to 5\u201910\u201d.<\/p>\n
Late 20\u2019s to early 30\u2019s.<\/p>\n
Thin to medium build.<\/p>\n
Deep voice.<\/p>\n
A second assault took place on June 21, 2015, at 11:50 pm at the 13th and Peach Street underpass in Erie.<\/p>\n
The female victim was walking through the underpass when she passed a male who slowed as she walked by.<\/p>\n
After exiting the underpass, she was grabbed from behind, sexually assaulted and dragged up the hill to a grassy<\/p>\n
area above the overpass.<\/p>\n
Police also released a description of that suspect.<\/p>\n
A Black Male.<\/p>\n
Late 30\u2019s to early 40\u2019s.<\/p>\n
Tall. slightly chubby build.<\/p>\n
Brown eyes.<\/p>\n
Deep voice.<\/p>\n
Police have submitted DNA evidence in both cases and are attempting to use Forensic Genealogy to identify the<\/p>\n
suspect of suspects.<\/p>\n
