The website described the Fishtown restaurant as &#8220;Imaginative Thai cooking with reams of charisma,&#8221; profiling chef-proprietor Chutatip &#8216;Nok&#8217; Suntaranon.<\/p>\n<p>This is not the only recognition for Kalaya. The restaurant is also a finalist for the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/philadelphia\/news\/james-beard-semifinalists-vernick-kalaya\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-invalid-url-rewritten-http=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">2026 James Beard Awards<\/a> in the Outstanding Restaurant category.<\/p>\n<p>Also ranked among North America&#8217;s 50 Best Restaurants is Friday Saturday Sunday.
