{"id":205694,"date":"2026-05-29T20:27:00","date_gmt":"2026-05-29T20:27:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/205694\/"},"modified":"2026-05-29T20:27:00","modified_gmt":"2026-05-29T20:27:00","slug":"lehigh-county-man-sentenced-to-state-prison-for-raping-teen","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/205694\/","title":{"rendered":"Lehigh County man sentenced to state prison for raping teen"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A Whitehall Township man will serve up to 20 years in prison after <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mcall.com\/2026\/02\/06\/2-men-plead-guilty-of-raping-teen-in-slatington-da-says\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">pleading guilty to raping a 17-year-old girl in the basement of a Slatington home<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Tristan Zawick, 23, was sentenced Thursday by Lehigh County Judge James Anthony to 10-20 years in a state prison, Lehigh County District Attorney Gavin Holihan announced Friday in a news release.<\/p>\n<p>The prison sentence will be followed by 5 years of consecutive probation after Zawick\u2019s release. He will also be required to register as a sex offender for life, Holihan said.<\/p>\n<p>Zawick had faced a maximum sentence of 54 years in prison, Holihan previously said.<\/p>\n<p>In February, Zawick pleaded guilty to multiple charges in the case, including rape, false imprisonment, strangulation and conspiracy to false imprisonment.<\/p>\n<p>Jacquan Tanasse, 20, of Catasauqua, also pleaded guilty in the case and is scheduled to be sentenced in August.<\/p>\n<p>The two men admitted to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mcall.com\/2025\/02\/09\/2-men-charged-with-raping-teen-in-slatington-home\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">raping the girl on Feb. 7, 2025, in the basement of a home<\/a> in the 200 block of Walnut Street, police said. They restrained her, wrapped a cord around her wrists and stuffed a shirt in her mouth, according to the DA. Tanasse also choked her, authorities said.<\/p>\n<p>This case was investigated by the Lehigh County District Attorney\u2019s Office Special Victims Unit and Slatington Police.
