Considering that the state budget is probably the biggest and most important job for our legislators and governor all year, why isn\u2019t it done?<\/p>\n
It\u2019s time to grow up and stop blaming the other party simply because it\u2019s the other party.<\/p>\n
The governor\u2019s opinion is no better. He says it\u2019s always been the Republicans\u2019 fault. I don\u2019t see him mediating or negotiating, as he should be doing. He is too busy politicking and blaming the Republicans.<\/p>\n
The blame game has gotten old. We the taxpayers give those in Harrisburg their regular raises. That\u2019s pretty generous of us, considering they can\u2019t accomplish a yearly priority.<\/p>\n
It is our money, so I think we need to stop providing the perk of raises. Unfortunately it\u2019s the Legislature that needs to eliminate the law that allows this perk. What are the chances of that happening?<\/p>\n
We should put all of their salaries toward the budget. What they\u2019re doing now is called \u201cfeeding at the trough.\u201d The state Legislature is, in my view, bloated, stagnant and rudderless.<\/p>\n
How much would the state treasury gain by eliminating the regular pay raises that are given with taxpayer money?<\/p>\n
\u201cIf you trust government, you obviously failed history class,\u201d U.S. Sen. John Kennedy of Louisiana once said.<\/p>\n
