NORTHAMPTON CO. (WOLF) \u2014 Jefferson Health is preparing to roll out a new mobile medical clinic designed to bring healthcare services directly into communities across Northampton County.<\/p>\n
The health system will officially unveil its new Mobile Health Care Coach during a ribbon-cutting ceremony June 2 at Lehigh Valley Hospital\u2013Hecktown Oaks in Easton.<\/p>\n
The motor coach is equipped with two exam rooms and will offer a variety of services, including vaccinations, blood work and medical testing.<\/p>\n
The unit also features telehealth technology, allowing patients to connect virtually with healthcare providers.<\/p>\n
According to Jefferson Health, the mobile clinic is intended to improve access to care in areas where healthcare services may be difficult to reach because of geography, transportation challenges or economic barriers.<\/p>\n
Officials say the coach can partner with schools, community organizations and businesses to provide health screenings, wellness programs and other medical services directly where people live and work.<\/p>\n
The vehicle can also be deployed at community events and specialty health programs.<\/p>\n
Jefferson Health leaders and medical staff are scheduled to speak during the launch event, including Lehigh Valley Hospital\u2013Hecktown Oaks Chief Operating Officer Lisa Liddington and emergency medicine physician Dr. Eric Bean.<\/p>\n
The Mobile Health Care Coach joins several other Jefferson Health outreach programs, including mobile mammography services and the Miles of Smiles dental van, which provides dental care to students through Lehigh Valley Reilly Children\u2019s Hospital.<\/p>\n
