MOOSIC, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE\/WYOU) \u2014 Saturday night, the Scranton\/Wilkes-Barre Railriders took down the Worcester Red Sox 7-2 to end their four-game losing streak.<\/p>\n
Scranton\/Wilkes-Barre tallied 13 hits and put base runners on in every inning to help secure the win.<\/p>\n

The first run from the Railriders came in the bottom of the third as Spencer Jones singled home Kenny Corona for one of Jones\u2019 three hits on the night. A run-scoring double by Tyler Hardman and an RBI single from Peyton Henry would make it a 3-0 Railriders ball game through three innings.<\/p>\n
In the following inning, the Railriders would add two more runs to the scoreboard. Jonathan Ornellus tripled and scored shortly after on an RBI single from Corona. Jones would then bring home Corona moments later to give Scranton\/Wilkes-Barre the 5-0 lead.<\/p>\n
In the bottom of the seventh, Ernesto Martinez Jr. made it a 6-0 Railriders lead as he hit one deep to left center for a sacrifice fly to score Oswaldo Cabrera<\/a>.<\/p>\n In the bottom of the eighth inning, the Railriders added one more to the board as Cabrera sent a drop shot to right field \u2013 one of his three hits on the night \u2013 for an RBI single to bring home George Lombard Jr. This would extend Scranton\/Wilkes-Barre\u2019s lead to 7-0.<\/p>\n Advertisement<\/p>\n Worcester would get on the board with two runs in the top of the ninth, as Matt Thaiss<\/a> hit one to right field for a two-run single, but it wasn\u2019t enough, as the Railriders went on to the 7-2 win.<\/p>\n Scranton\/Wilkes-Barre and Worcester will be back in action for Game 6 of this Railriders home series tomorrow at 1:35 p.m.<\/p>\n Copyright 2026 Nexstar Media, Inc.
