Community members and first responders turned out Monday night for a procession honoring Central Berks Regional police Officer Kristen Yeager.<\/p>\n

Yeager<\/a>, 42, of Boyertown died Friday night after her cruiser crashed on Route 73 in Earl Township while she was responding to an emergency call, officials said.<\/p>\n

The left Reading Hospital and traveled along Penn Avenue in West Reading to Route 422 east to the Mount Penn exit, ending at Lutz Funeral Home at 2100 Perkiomen Ave.<\/p>\n

According to state police:<\/p>\n

Yeager was eastbound on Route 73 at 7:50 p.m. Friday, responding to a call with the cruiser\u2019s emergency lights and sirens activated.<\/p>\n

Her vehicle left the paved portion of the road, went onto the grass shoulder and hit a tree near the intersection with Manatawny Road. She was thrown from the cruiser.<\/p>\n

Emergency personnel arrived and conducted lifesaving measures. Yeager was transported to an area hospital. She died of injuries suffered in the crash.<\/p>\n
