NORTHAMPTON COUNTY, Pa. – Jefferson Health is hitting the road with a medical mission, ensuring health care access throughout Northampton County.<\/p>\n
Jefferson cut the ribbon on its “Mobile Health Care Coach,” its newest health care unit on wheels, Tuesday.<\/p>\n
The coach is equipped with two exam rooms, where patients can get vaccines, blood work, and tests.<\/p>\n
There’s also virtual care technology, so patients can connect with their doctor from afar.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe Health Care Coach provides many of the same state-of-the-art technologies found in primary care, JeffExpress or ExpressCARE offices,\u201d said Eric Bean, DO, emergency medicine physician.<\/p>\n
In a news release, Jefferson Health said the\u00a0coach can partner with schools at health events and with businesses to launch employer-empowered wellness initiatives.<\/p>\n
Jefferson Health said\u00a0it can bridge the gap to primary care services and allow services to be delivered where healthcare access is geographically challenging or economically disproportionate.<\/p>\n
\u201cEveryone deserves to be cared for, and we aim to overcome barriers by bringing care directly to residents through the Health Care Coach,\u201d says Lisa Liddington, Chief Operating Officer, Lehigh Valley Hospital\u2013Hecktown Oaks.<\/p>\n
