NEW BETHLEHEM, Pa. (EYT) \u2014 A New Bethlehem man faces drug, weapon, and disorderly conduct charges after police responded to a domestic dispute and reportedly found him in possession of methamphetamine and metal knuckles.<\/p>\n
Court records show the Southern Clarion County Regional Police Department filed the following charges against 29-year-old Kevin Wade Allen on May 27:<\/p>\n

\nIntentional Possession of a Controlled Substance, Misdemeanor
\nUse\/Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Misdemeanor

According to a criminal complaint, an officer responded to a reported domestic dispute on Washington Street in New Bethlehem Borough on May 15. The officer encountered Allen and a woman who were involved in an argument over Allen\u2019s drug use, the complaint notes.<\/p>\n
The woman told police that Allen reached over her inside a vehicle to try to take her wallet, the complaint indicates. The affidavit noted that she was scared of his actions, though Allen did not strike her. Two witnesses on the scene told police they saw Allen come out of the driver\u2019s side window of a truck and scream at the woman, the complaint continues.<\/p>\n
According to the complaint, the responding officer separated the parties and observed that Allen was excited, jittery, sweaty, and staggering. The officer noted in the complaint that he recognized these behaviors as signs of a person under the influence of methamphetamine.<\/p>\n
The officer attempted to calm Allen down and explained his options, according to the complaint. The complaint alleges that Allen then stated, \u201cWell, this is the first step,\u201d before opening a backpack and handing a plastic case to the officer. The case allegedly contained syringes with liquid residue and a plastic straw.<\/p>\n
According to the complaint, an officer searched Allen before emergency medical services personnel arrived to transport him to the hospital. The complaint states that Allen told police he had methamphetamine in his front jeans pocket, and officers then recovered a small baggie of methamphetamine from his coin pocket.<\/p>\n
The complaint notes that Allen gave consent for police to search his backpack. Inside the bag, officers allegedly found a set of black metal knuckles.<\/p>\n
According to the complaint, an officer followed the ambulance to the Clarion hospital emergency room. Medical staff were advised of the situation and noted that Allen wanted to seek treatment for his addiction, the complaint states.<\/p>\n
